Bathymetric surveys are one of our favourite types of surveying, not only because of the cool data they produce, but also who wouldn’t like to drive a boat about for several hours, enjoying the sunshine! We had one of those days recently, when we visited Essex to gather the crucial data on a high spring tide. After having recently upgraded our power delivery system to our survey equipment, this was the first real test and we were relieved to find that everything worked as expected. We can now be confident that our survey equipment will work in a reliable way and with real time data backup.
The survey was part of a greater project we are working on – developing a new marina. Thanks to our comprehensive range of services, we can provide the client with the marina design involving CAD and GIS drawings and licensing support for an application with the MMO, EA and District Authority, as well as the necessary sediment sampling and survey data required to support the application.
It was also the first time our new colleague, Luke, joined us on site. Being our marketing specialist, Luke’s role is all about providing high quality photos and videos, graphics etc. He took to this task very well (hence the much better photos than usual!) and he also got to drive the boat for the first time, undoubtedly a great experience! Don’t forget to look us up on social media to see some of Luke’s great work: Facebook & Twitter.
