As I’m sure you’re aware by now, the United Kingdom has entered ‘lock-down’ due to Covid-19 (Coronavirus). Therefore, following the Prime Minister’s latest advice to stay-at-home and work remotely, Exo has taken serious measures with most staff working from home and if being in the building is necessary, then only one member of staff present at a time.
On a more positive note, Exo has been able to offer it’s 3D printing services to the University of East Anglia Research & Innovation with the potential of producing ventilator components. We’ve worked with the UEA on several projects before and are fully supporting their work to create extra ventilators and hand sanitiser.
We’ve also set up our more powerful workstation computers to run simulations of protein dynamics using ‘Folding@Home’. Insights from this data are helping scientists to better understand biology and providing new opportunities for developing therapeutics. Essentially our computers are now helping to run equations to help better understand Covid-19! If you’d like to join us on this venture, sign up on their website and enter our team code: 253257.
We’re still very much working, so please do get in touch via phone or our contact page as we can still provide consultancy and planning via phone calls and video conference! Most importantly: stay safe, stay home and stay aware.
