Torqeedo Electric Boat Engine

The transition to greener energy and infrastructure is something we at Exo Environmental are determined to embrace and a few weeks ago we purchased our second electric battery for our electric Torqeedo electric boat engine. This technology is not only an investment for the future but also helps reduce our carbon footprint and conduct surveying works in a greener and more climate friendly nature.

Exo were one of the first companies to purchase this technology when we bought our original Torqeedo back in December 2014.

This engine is usually deployed on our Waveline and Zodiac dinghy craft, perfect for surveying shallow, inaccessible and inland water bodies. The advantages of the Torqeedo electric engines are not only zero-carbon but they also reduce the level of noise disturbance, when compared to petrol outboards. Helping to mitigate the impacts to local wildlife and habitats.

Using our electric Torqeedo outboard engines avoids the use of and potential for fuel spillages, this allows us to simplify our COSHH assessment and reduce procedural practices.

A further advantage is ease of storage and logistics as the electric engines are far lighter and smaller than petrol alternatives, which makes deployment far simpler in difficult access conditions such as steep banks.

Our investment in electric engines is helping our company meet its environmental objectives and promote green responsibility within our sector and the wider boating community.
