Exo’s holiday message

Happy Holidays from Exo Environmental!

Its been another jam-packed year here at Exo-Environmental. Over the course of the last 12 months, we’ve had the opportunity to engage with many more exciting projects with many different partners. This has allowed us to continue expanding our network and further solidify our position in the environmental sector. As the year draws to a close and we move into 2023, we wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate some of our proudest achievements from 2022, which include:
  • Collaborative surveys of the Broads with the Broads Authority, RSPB, National Trust, and Natural England to develop suitable sites for peatland restoration

  • Exploration of peat coverage at multiple sites in the Cambridgeshire Fens for Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust

  • Beach nesting bird habitat creation with the RSPB in Langstone Harbour.

  • Channel maintenance for the Woodbridge Tidal Mill

  • Multiple single beam bathymetric surveys conducted at Westwick Lakes, Norfolk for Natural England, and multibeam bathymetric surveys conducted at Woolverstone Marina, Suffolk, Brightlingsea Harbour and river Colne.

  • Continued CANAPE paludiculture monitoring for the Broads Authority

  • Conclusion of the SARCC project, which culminated in Southend-on-Sea during the SARCC conference, organised by us. The conference drew over 130 delegates from across Europe.

  • Blue-green infrastructure development alongside Colchester Borough Council, establishing innovative methods of managing the riverside areas of the city using Nature Based Solutions

  • Mersea Harbour protection works

  • Investigating the feasibility of Nature Based Solutions (NBS) in Sandwich, Kent with Kent Wildlife Trust

  • Collaboration with students from UEA to develop project briefs and build their employability

  • Major updates to our website, facilitating with ease of navigation

  • Further expansion of the team, seeing two new faces join the company

  • And much more…

In 2022, we also launched our brand-new sister company, Exo Engineering International Limited, focussing on the fabrication of our various Eco-products as a separate company

  • Continued development of our Eco-reef units (ecologically enhanced scour protection), including further experimentation with various shapes and surface textures

  • Development of the Living Windfarms Project with OWGP part funding

  • Working with Innovate UK EDGE GBIP Canada to establish partnerships and research collaborations, as a route into North American markets

  • GBIP Taiwan has been pushed back to 2023, but presents itself as another promising opportunity to break into new international markets

We will be taking two weeks off over the holiday period from Thursday 22nd of December until 5th of January 2023. Please expect a reply from us after the end of this period, we appreciate your patience.

Without the continued support from our clients, partners, and followers, working on these projects would not have been possible. The team here at Exo-Environmental would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped us achieve what we have this year, we look forward to seeing what 2023 has in store.

See you next year, happy holidays!
